How To Reset iPod

The good news is that you've got an iPod and you're loving it. The bad news is that it keeps locking up and now you've got to reset iPod. Luckily, it isn't a hard process to do.

If you've got an iPod with a click wheel (the newer ones), here's what you do.
  • Set the hold switch to hold, then back to normal.
  • Press and hold the menu and the center button for about 10 seconds until the Apple logo appears on the screen.
That's it, you've just reset it.

If you've got an older iPod, the steps are just as easy.
  • Set the hold switch to hold, then back to normal.
  • Press and hold the menu and Play/Pause button until the Apple logo comes on the screen.
If these steps didn't work, try doing them with the unit plugged in.

When you reset iPod, your files and settings are saved. But sometimes you'll need to do a full format, which is done using iTunes. This will totally erase everything on your iPod, putting it back to the factory default settings. This can clear up some problems, but it is also a quick fix if you just want to clean out your iPod and start from scratch.

Now that you've reset iPod, you'll be anxious to use it again. But are you tired of the same videos and music? Here's a great site I found where you can download movies, tv shows, and music for any MP3 player, not just iPods. It also comes with free software to copy your DVDs to your iPod, which is really cool. Check it out today!
